JUNE 15th - JUNE 19th – PRINCESS CAMP SESSION I

Ages 3-5 - 10:00 A.M. – 11:30 A.M.
Ages 6-8 – 12:00 P.M. – 1:30 P.M.
Calling all princesses! Come have fun with fairytale magic, as we dance to our favorite princess music, such as The Little Mermaid, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Mulan, and other
fairytale songs. Our day includes dancing, dress up, snack, story time, and princess crafts. Become a
princess, and decorate wands, crowns, and a wonderful memory page! On the fourth day, a “Princess Tea Party” will be held during the last 20 minutes of class. During the last half hour of the final class, the camp will end with a performance for the parents, where they can watch their princesses perform a beautiful and magical routine. Space is limited and filled on a first-come/first-served basis, so sign up early! Also offered July 28th – Aug. 1st. $120.

JULY 27th – JULY 31st – PRINCESS CAMP SESSION II

JULY 20th – JULY 24th – BALLET MASTERS CAMP

Ages 9-18 – 10:00 A.M.-4:00 P.M.
The summer program features daily intensive study in classical ballet technique, followed by classes in
pointe (optional), variations in modern, jazz, character and pas de deux. Classes also include pilates,
body conditioning, choreography and imagery and visualization. Additionally, daily lectures on dance-
related topics such as nutrition, injury prevention, audition techniques, music theory, French terminology, and dance history are offered by professional instructors. $250

JUNE 15th – JUNE 19th – Fashion-Spa Week and Dealing with the Fashion Bully

9:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M.
Girls will learn about fashion, skin care, hair, and appropriately dressing their age while still being able to
express themselves. Girls will learn to stand up to the Fashion Bully, deal with peer and societal pressure
to dress a certain way and be critical thinkers about the media. At the end of camp, the girls will show you what they have learned in a Fashion Show for family and friends. Girls ages 6-9 yrs & 10-14 - $150

JUNE 22nd – JUNE 26th – High School Musical by Girls Empowered

9:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M.
Girls will have fun with hip hop dancing & singing while examining the social landscape in High School
Musical. Learn how to identify mean girl behavior, what it looks like being a target, a bystander, & how to stand up for yourself. Girls role play the characters & learn how to have the confidence to be themselves. Girls perform a Girls Empowered version of the musical for their parents. Songs & lessons come from all 3 movies! Includes role plays, fitness activities, crafts, & games. Girls Girls ages 6-9 yrs & 10-12 - $150

JUNE 29th – JULY 3rd - Assertiveness Boot Camp-What to say to the bully and more!

9:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M.
Being assertive is a life skill every kid needs to have in dealing with bullies, in negotiating, handling conflict, setting boundaries, to be taken seriously, and getting their needs met. Kids will learn and practice being assertive in their words, voice, and body language through role-playing and crafts. This camp will help all kids no matter what their confidence level is including kids who may be too aggressive in how they communicate to those who don’t use their voice at all. Girls 6-9, 10-14 and Boys 6-9, 10-14 - $150

JUNE 29th – JULY 1st – MUSICAL THEATRE/TRIPLE THREAT/VOCAL CAMP

Ages 8-12 – 9:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M.
Ages 13 and up – 1:00 – 4:00 P.M.
Do you watch American Idol? Learn how to perform and compete! "To be a star, you must shine your own light. And don't be afraid of darkness, for that is when stars shine the brightest." Improve your singing, dancing and acting skills while developing self-confidence and poise on stage. Focus on exciting
Fundamentals of the "triple threat", including dance, vocal technique, choral singing, character creation
and stage presence. As well as daily workshops in musical theatre, campers will explore the role that
children and young people play in the wonderful world of musical theatre. Your final presentation will be a collaboration of scenes and songs in a variety of exciting musicals both new and old. This is your chance to be all you can be, and MORE! Discover you can do it… then do it well! $150

JULY 6th – JULY 10th - Girl Power, Little Girl Power and Boy Power, Little Boy Power

9:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M.
Kids will learn about personal power and how their attitude and beliefs about themselves affect how they handle friendships, peer relationships, and opportunities/problems in life. Kids will look at their inner-self and the outer-self they present to the world to see if it fits with who they want to be. Activities focus on building self-esteem, appreciation for who we are, what we have, our dreams and liking ourselves. Girls 4-6, 6-9, 10-14 and Boys 4-6,6-9, 10-14 - $150

JULY 13th – JULY 17th – MAKING MUSIC - Ages 6-12 – 9:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M.

Focusing on the fundamentals of music and how it "works", students will gain an understanding of how
music is put together rhythmically and metrically. Songs will be explored through the use of rhythm
instruments and singing. We will have fun trying to identify Major vs. Minor tonalities. Music reading skills
are not a pre-requisite. $150

JULY 13th – JULY 17th – ACTING AND THEATER GAMES FOR YOUNG PERFORMERS

Ages 6-12 - 1:00-4:00 P.M.
This camp will focus on exercises for developing acting skills. We will explore the power of body language and non-verbal communication as well as enjoy participating in improvisational situations. Taught by Christine Miller M.A. $150

JULY 6th - JULY 10th - DANCER'S EDGE COMPETITION/CHOREOGRAPHY

Ages 9-18 – 10:00-4:00 P.M.
Do you watch So You Think You Can Dance? Come compete and learn how to succeed in this industry! Guest teachers will focus on voice, acting and dance. Students will compete with their own choreography to win a cash prize by the end of the week. Also, learn what dance teams do to prepare for Nationals and the elements of a dedicated work ethic. $250

AUG. 3rd – AUG. 7th – LEADERSHIP AND TEAMBUILDING CAMP

Ages 10-14 – 9:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M.
Ages 14 and up – 1:00-4:00 P.M.
Learn and identify leadership principles and then work to develop individual strengths and how to gain
trust and confidence in yourself and others. Communication Activities, Problem Solving, Leadership
Principles, Developing Trust, Creating Initiatives and Motivating for Peak Performance… Ideal for high
school sports teams and organizations! $150

AUG. 10th – AUG. 14th – UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN CHEER/DANCE CAMP

Ages 5-10 - 9:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. Ages 11-17 – 1:00-4:00 P.M.  At Dancer’s Edge @ Studio “D”, we have a wonderful Dance and Cheer program that is tailor made to accommodate beginners and experienced dancers alike for ages 5-17. Our instruction combines the basic foundations of dance and cheerleading along with fun activities to stimulate camper creativity. Teachers are current members of The University of Michigan Dance Team. Students will be placed according to age and ability levels and will learn teambuilding skills along with fun hip-hop dancing and cheers! Develop self-confidence, meet new friends and have fun at this exciting camp! We can’t wait to cheer and dance with you! $185

AUG. 3rd - AUG 7th - ABCs of Social Skills

12:00-4:00 P.M.
Kids will learn about 25 different Social Skills. Social Skills are the skills kids need to develop
and manage relationships in life. Learning Social Skills like Dealing with being Left Out,
Accepting No, Saying No, Negotiation, Compromise, Taking Turns, Beginning a Conversation,
Joining a group, Handling Conflict and Dealing with Group Pressure can help any child be successful in
relationships whether it’s with peers, friends, family, teachers or later in life- Work!
Girls 6-9 & 10-14 - $150

AUG 3rd - AUG. 7th - My Friends and Me!

9:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M.
Kids will have fun learning how to be a good friend! This camp will teach the ABCs of friendship skills
including how to make new friends, sharing, cooperation, being loyal, dealing with disagreements and
conflict, and things to say and not to say when being a good friend. Kids will have fun with friendship
themed crafts and stories. Girls 6-9, 10-14 - $150. Girls & Boys 4-6 - $150.

AUG. 17th - AUG. 21st - Assertiveness Boot Camp-What to say to the bully and more!

12:00-3:00 P.M.
Going to Middle School is one of the biggest transitional periods for kids. This can be an exciting new
adventure and/or an emotionally challenging time. This camp will help your kid prepare for changes in
friendships, their bodies and nutritional needs. They will learn how to get involved, meet new people,
manage stress, and be organized. This camp will help your daughter or son prepare for the social scene
in middle school. This camp includes 2 crafts. Girls and Boys Going into Middle School - $150.
